2. Personal data we process
- Enquiries: the name, email address, optional phone number and message you send through our contact form or by email or phone.
- Technical data: when you visit the site, the server that hosts it records technical information such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request. This is needed to deliver the site and keep it secure.
- Consent choice: your cookie choice is stored in your own browser (local storage). It does not identify you to us.
- Advertising measurement (only with your consent): if you accept advertising cookies, Microsoft Advertising receives information about your visit, such as pages viewed, a cookie identifier, IP address and information on whether you arrived from one of our ads. See section 6.
We do not ask for sensitive data through the website. Please do not send personal identity numbers, bank details or client documents through the contact form.
3. Purposes and legal bases
- Answering your enquiry and preparing an offer — steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)), or our legitimate interest in replying to messages we receive (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- Operating and securing the website — our legitimate interest in providing a working and secure website (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- Storing your cookie choice — necessary to comply with the rules on consent (Art. 6(1)(c)) and our legitimate interest in remembering your choice (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- Measuring our Microsoft Advertising campaigns — your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw your consent at any time through the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.
If you become a client, your data is processed under the client agreement and the accounting and tax legislation that applies to our work. That processing is described in the client agreement.
4. Retention
- Enquiries that do not lead to an assignment are deleted no later than 12 months after our last contact with you.
- Enquiries that lead to an assignment are kept as part of the client relationship for as long as the law requires.
- Server logs are kept for a short period, normally no longer than 30 days, unless needed to investigate a security incident.
- Your cookie choice is stored in your browser for 12 months, after which you are asked again.
- Microsoft Advertising cookies are kept for the periods stated in our cookie policy.
5. Processors and recipients
We do not sell personal data. We use service providers that process data on our behalf under a data processing agreement, in the following categories:
- website hosting provider;
- email and form delivery provider;
- web font provider (Google Fonts), which receives your IP address when the fonts used on this site are loaded.
Authorities may receive data where we are legally required to disclose it.
6. Microsoft Advertising
If you accept advertising cookies, we load the Microsoft Advertising Universal Event Tracking (UET) tag. Microsoft Corporation and Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited then receive data about your visit, which is used to measure the results of our advertising campaigns on Microsoft Advertising (Bing). Microsoft acts as an independent controller for part of this processing; see Microsoft’s privacy statement at privacy.microsoft.com (opens in a new tab).
The legal basis is your consent. The tag is not loaded and no advertising cookie is set unless you choose “Accept all” or switch on Advertising & measurement in the preferences.
7. Transfers outside the EU
Microsoft and Google may process data in the United States. These transfers are based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, under which the companies are certified, and where needed on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data erased, where there is no legal reason to keep it;
- restrict processing in certain situations;
- object to processing based on our legitimate interest;
- receive data you have given us in a portable format, where processing is based on consent or contract;
- withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting processing that took place before withdrawal.
To use your rights, contact us at info@abjakobstadsbokforingsbyra.com. We reply within one month.
9. Supervisory authority
If you believe that we process your personal data in breach of data protection law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Finnish supervisory authority:
Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman (Tietosuojavaltuutetun toimisto)
P.O. Box 800, 00531 Helsinki, Finland
tietosuoja.fi/en (opens in a new tab)
10. Changes
We may update this policy if our processing changes. The current version is always available on this page.
